WHAT I TAKE OFF YOUR DESK

Full-cycle payables handled with experience

Most AP departments have people who aren't always efficient or proficient across the full cycle. Having one person who can process accurately, spot what's wrong, explain the numbers to vendors and auditors, and train your team keeps your payables department free from backlog.

Full-cycle payables

Invoice intake, coding, three-way matches, approval routing and payment runs for high-volume invoice processing — without the errors that create rework later.

Backlog & deficit cleanup

Past-due balances worked down bucket by bucket, with a written status you can show leadership each week until the aging report is clean.

Discrepancy & dispute resolution

Short pays, duplicate billings, price and quantity variances and credits — chased to a documented conclusion with the vendor.

Vendor account management

Statement reconciliation, W-9 and onboarding files, and the steady communication that keeps suppliers shipping to terms.

Spend reporting & analysis

Aging, accrual and spend-by-vendor reporting built in Excel, so month-end close starts from something reliable.

THE RECORD

Experience across public health, construction and nonprofit organizations

ABOUT ME

A path across three very different rulebooks

Tressa Fields, founder of Pelican Belle Financials

I'm Tressa Fields, the founder of Pelican Belle Financials. I spent more than a decade managing payables for the Los Angeles County Department of Health Services, later joined the Center for Justice Innovation, and now work as a billing specialist in the construction industry.

That path gave me three very different rulebooks to learn — and it's made me comfortable working with businesses of any size, from solo owners to larger multi-entity operations. To sharpen my skills on the reporting side of the work, I'm currently completing my Financial Analysis Certification.
